China church will continue to 'self- ordain' bishops without approval of pope, says gov't association leader

HONG KONG (UCAN) – Despite Pope Benedict XVI reiterating that the ordination of bishops without papal mandate violates canonical discipline, a mainland church leader says China will continue to "self-elect and self-ordain" bishops.
